People put more on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media than ever before. But if you are involved in a legal dispute, it is in your best interest to keep your life offline. Litigants have begun requesting information from Facebook during discovery and using Tweets against each other in trial.
 
If you are going through a divorce, be extra careful what you post on social media. What seems like a moment of venting to you can have serious negative consequences to your case. You may think your posts are private, but nothing is private on the Internet. In most cases, you cannot go back and delete old posts because you have a duty to preserve evidence, which means you need to be extra careful moving forward.
